Advanced systems for your oral health
Our Technology
State-of-the Art Dentistry
As a part of our ongoing commitment to providing our patients with the best care available, our office is proud to utilize the most up-to-date technology. This allows us to help you maintain your oral health, and when necessary, solve even the most complicated dental problems.
Our Select Technologies
Our state-of-the-art equipment includes:
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use an electronic sensor to capture images rather than traditional X-ray film. These images can then easily be viewed and stored on a computer. Digital X-rays reduce radiation exposure by up to 90 percent compared to traditional X-rays. We can instantly view the images, making it easier to detect any issues and to share them with you. This technology is also beneficial to the environment as there are no harmful waste products and chemicals.
We recommend regular X-rays as a preventive, diagnostic tool. They enable us to see issues that are not visible to the naked eye so that any necessary treatment can begin as early as possible. Digital X-rays can help us diagnose a variety of conditions including cysts, bone loss, tumors, decay that is not yet visible, developmental abnormalities, and more.
Intraoral Camera
We believe that for early detection and accurate representation of dental conditions, this device is essential. An intraoral camera is a tiny digital camera that fits comfortably in your mouth and can show an enlarged image of one tooth or the entire mouth on a computer screen. This helps us increase your understanding of our findings and any treatment recommendations.
CEREC – One-Visit Restorations
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This amazing system uses CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology to create your dental restorations while you wait.
Traditionally, when a patient needs a crown, they visit the dentist for an impression and go home with a temporary restoration. This can be uncomfortable and unstable. It can take up to a couple of weeks to get your permanent crown! The great news is that when you visit River District Smiles Dentistry for a crown, you don’t have to wait!
When you come into our office for a CEREC crown restoration, we will scan your tooth with the special CEREC device, which takes a digital impression. That image is then used to make a computerized design of your crown or other restoration. Next, the digital design is sent to our CEREC milling machine, where a custom crown will be milled from a solid block of high-quality restorative material.
Your restoration will then be polished for a natural look and comfortable feel, and bonded in your mouth – all in just one appointment! You can leave with a beautifully restored smile.
CBCT
Dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special type of X-ray equipment that we use when regular X-rays are not sufficient. This state-of-the-art technology produces three-dimensional images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in just a single scan.
Cone Beam CT is often used for treatment planning for orthodontics, surgical planning for impacted teeth, diagnosing TMJ, planning for proper placement of implants, and more.
At River District Smiles Dentistry, we provide uncompromised customer service to our patients while serving their immediate and future dental needs based on a thorough diagnosis and risk assessment. To learn more about what we can do for your family, contact us today.
